An Introduction to Barrhead United FC.

Barrhead United FC are a youth football team created for the community of Barrhead and East Renfrewshire in order to promote the development of grass roots youth football.  The Club is run by volunteers and is funded through sponsorship, grants, donations and charitable events.

The Club was founded in June 2009 by Greig McIlreavy, John McMillan, Colin Higgins and John Simpson, four dedicated coaches from Barrhead who recognised the need for a different approach to the development of youth football in the area.  Our aim is to provide a positive environment which promotes development for all children involved, with an emphasis on football skills development in a non-competitive and happy training environment, which will produce confident individuals who aspire to be the very best that they can be.

Barrhead United FC has developed a partnership with Alloa Athletic Football Club, a professional football club which currently plays in the Scottish Football League Division 2.  We are recognised by Alloa as a partnership club of the Alloa Youth Football Academy.

For more information concerning the partnership please visit the Alloa FC Partnership page.
